In a sea of Asetek OEM AIO cooler units, it is nice to have other options such as Deepcool‘s Captain AIO series. Their latest announcement is the release of the white version of the Deepcool Captain 240EX RGB. This AIO cooler series was originally available in black only with matching black fans. They already have a white version of their regular non-RGB Captain 240EX so this was an easy transition. As the name says, it has RGB LED lighting on the pump block.
RGB LED Features
Deepcool’s Captain 240EX RGB is compatible with ASUS’ Aura Sync, MSI’s Mystic Light and Gigabyte’s RGB fusion. This means users can just plug it in to the available RGB LED header and syncrhonize the LED behaviour via the motherboard. It also comes with an in-line RGB LED controller just in case users do not have an LED header. This allows users to adjust the lighting level, color option and LED behaviour with a few simple clicks.
In addition to the LED pump block, Deepcool also bundles the 240EX RGB with an RGB LED strip. This allows users to further extend RGB LED lighting inside their case. The best part is that Deepcool provides all the cables necessary to make this happen, including a splitter for the on-board header and cables for the controller. Although the fans are not RGB LED to match, the inclusion of the RGB LED strip is a nice value addition.
Pricing and Availability
The white version of the Captain 240EX RGB will be available starting September 2017. It will be the same price as the regular non-white Captain 240EX RGB at $129.99 USD.
