So, getting to those performance figures. At this point, you’re probably dying to know whether this can genuinely compete with the Noctua NH-D15. Well, the short answer is yes.
There is, of course, always a long answer though. While it is definitely as good as the Noctua NH-D15, the results do take a bit of an in-depth analysis. Are you ready?
Well, first at stock levels, the Assassin III gets off to an amazing start with lower temperatures across all results. I must admit to being more than a little surprised that this has been able to beat the Noctua NH-D15 at this level and by a fairly comfortable margin.
While overclocked, the results are a bit more mixed. While the Noctua may have the edge in overall maximum temperature performance the Assassin III balances this out with very decent idle and gaming temps. Put simply, the figures balance themselves to pretty much put them in a stalemate situation based upon a reasonable margin of error.
Overall we did find that the DeepCool GamerStorm Assassin III was a little comparatively noisier than the NH-D15. Comparing the two companies and their resources available, however, some concessions have to be allowed here.
Regardless of how you view these figures and the Assassin III’s comparative performance, one thing is clear. It’s an exceptionally good cooler!
