DeepCool GamerStorm Castle 360RGB V2 AIO Cooler Review

A Closer Look

Out of the box, the main cooler presents itself very well. While not overly heavy, it still looks like a very substantial product and, with the black and grey coloring, certainly shows a professional design. What about the individual components that make up the cooler as a whole, however? – Well, let’s take a closer look!

Pump Head / Contact Plate

The pump head comes in silver which is well highlighted with its amazingly reflective surface (more on that shortly). While not sitting overly tall, it strikes you that this might have something special up its sleeve and when the RGB is turned on, I promise you that is definitely the case!

As you can see in the picture below, with the RGB off, the top of the pump head has an amazingly high-quality reflective surface. So reflective, in fact, that you could even see the skylight (on the ceiling) in my photo area. An exceptionally nice tough to add some extra aesthetic goodness while the lights are off!

In regards to the contact plate, it is nice and large and (as you can see below) it also comes with some pre-applied thermal paste. While we do remove the thermal paste as part of our testing methodology, I should note that the quality (and perhaps surprisingly, quantity) is very good! I would happily install this with the pre-supplied paste on my system!

Radiator

The radiator is, in itself, a fairly standard design. It’s big (because it’s a 360mm design), black (nothing usual there), but surprisingly not overly heavy.

A major problem I find with 360 AIO’s is that they can often be bulky and cumbersome things to manage and while we can’t say that this doesn’t necessarily apply to the DeepCool GamerStorm Castle360 RGB V2, it’s not overly notably ‘heavy in the hand’ either.

Fans

As this is a 360 AIO liquid cooler, you are supplied with (at the risk of sounding obvious) 3 x 120mm fans. While looking nice and sleek, it should be noted that all of these carry RGB lighting effects.

A close look reveals that the fans are a ‘DeepCool’ own design that again, like the cooler itself, falls under the GamerStorm branding. As such, all going well, consideration has been made to ensure that these fans are more than suitable for the task at hand!

Overall

When assembled, we have to admit to being really impressed with the aesthetics of the DeepCool GamerStorm Castle360 RGB V2 cooler. With the black and silver highlights, this really looks like an impressive cooler.

While things are taken to a new level when the RGB lights are turned on (more on that shortly), we must admit that this is one of the best looking AIO coolers we have seen for quite some time!

RGB Lighting Effects

So, with the RGB on, does it make any improvements to this cooler? Well, yes and no. And we only say that because it looks so bloody good with the RGB off. Perhaps too good.

Starting with the pump head, that once reflective surface melts away to reveal the logo to the center as well as an RGB ring to the full perimeter.

Similar to the fans, the RGB lighting effects are nice, bright, and definitely grab your attention. We only mention this as many alternative brands often go muted with the RGB lighting and, as far as we’re concerned, DeepCool has got it right. You go big, or you go home!
