Installation

Fitting a cooler to a system can be a very mixed bag. I know! I fit enough of them! It is, however, always a relief when you know, pretty much out of the box, that the experience is going to be straightforward. With all the parts and components neatly packaged, you should easily be able to simply access the parts you need for your socket.

The manual provided with the cooler is large and fantastically detailed for all processors. I found the information easy on the eye and more than clear enough to ensure I got this fitted correctly without a single mistake!

The mounting system was very simple and straightforward. Well, at least for our 1151x socket processor. Given that this is (generally speaking) the hardest part of any cooler installation (and the easiest to get wrong) the setup for the Deepcool Captain 240 Pro is pleasantly simple and shouldn’t prove to be any difficulty for even a complete novice.

Even fitting the fans to the radiator (which is usually one of the most monotonous tasks) was really easy. This was, however, helped massively by the fact that the screws to install them have a very small thread. If this was a deliberate design choice, I hugely applaud it. You literally only have to turn the screwdriver twice and these are fully (and firmly) attached.

It literally took me about 2 minutes to attach all 8 screws. For most other coolers, this can take at least twice as long.

From out of the box and onto the system, this cooler took me no longer than about 10-15 minutes. For a 240mm cooler, this is very good and remember, during the installation I was paying close attention to a lot of the parts. In a hurry, I suspect I could have this done inside 8 minutes. That should be the best example that in terms of design, this cooler is a delight to work with.

Deepcool has provided a video below which does show the installation for this cooler. Just in case (in very unlikely circumstances) you do get stuck.
