Performance

Installation was a breeze, with a single universal backplate, four retention pegs screw in by hand, and four thumbscrews hold the pump in place; pretty standard stuff really, and easy to do.

The pump and fans look great, with some of the nicest colours I’ve seen, but they’re not overly bright, which I like, but those eager to bathe their whole PC in rainbows may want something a little brighter.

Temperatures

The LS520 AIO is a strong performer, hitting just 74c at full load on our i9, which is enough to keep in firmly in the high-end performance bracket.

Using our optimised settings, the temperature maxed out at 78c, which is a little on the warmer side for our charts, but still very good overall, as we haven’t really benchmarked anything but high-end coolers so far.

Acoustics

It’s certainly quiet at 48 dBa, but the Kraken 240 still leads with its virtually silent fans.

The overclocked test saw the acoustics creep up to 49 dBa, but it was more a wind noise than any direct noise from the fans or the pump.

Using my optimised settings, the already decent Cinebench score of 26382 was improved to 26700, but it did drop from 3rd to 4th place on the respective charts, but still a strong score regardless.

CineBench R23

At stock clocks, the LS520 scored our second highest, with a staggering 27107 points, very impressive indeed.

Overclocking saw it drop a place on the charts, but the score increased to a very impressive 27383.

Improvement

Most of the coolers actually lowered their temperatures with the optimised settings, while the LS520 is one of the few that actually got a little higher. However, despite this, it still put in our 2nd and 3rd best scores for Cinebench, so it’s clear still doing a great job in regards to system performance.
