The DeepCool RGB 360 lighting kit is available from a few retailers, with prices under £30. We found it for around £27 at eBuyer, which is a pretty great deal and certainly comparable to other lighting kits on the market.
Overview
Kitting out your rig with cool lighting is an easy task these days, there are just so many options available. Motherboards and graphics cards, even PSUs are now coming to market with RGB lighting options. You’ve got a huge range of fans on the market with cool lighting effects to choose from, and of course, lighting kits like the one we’ve reviewed today.
Lighting kits are the easiest option to go for, as you don’t have to change or replace any of your primary hardware, fans, or anything to integrate it. So if you’ve got a build you already love the look of, but it just needs that extra sparkle to brighten it up, then it’s a bit of a no-brainer. Open up your side panel, plug in the kit, snap it into place using the magnetic strips, and you’re good to go.
I love how simple this system is to use, there’s no mucking about with software or requiring USB headers on your motherboard, it only needs a single Molex connector. The remote works really well, even if it does feel a bit cheap in your hand, and you can quickly dial in the colour you desire.
If I could improve anything, I would love to see more in the way of lighting effects included, but for single colours, it’s a winner. Of course, the added bonus that it works with Asus Aura will be a nice bonus for some too. Also, it seems excessive that the remote needs 3 x AAA batteries, and that these aren’t included, as that will add to the cost buying those separately.
Pros
- Very easy to install
- Affordable price
- Remote control
- Doesn’t require software
- Magnetic mounts
- Expandable
Cons
- Batteries not included (3 x AAA for remote)
- No cool transition effects
“If you’re looking for a quick and easy way to add some visual flair to your build, without having to change out any major components to achieve it, the DeepCool RGB 360 is one of the easiest to use lighting kits on the market.”
