Dell Announces New 27-Inch 4K HDR Monitor

Dell has released a number of impressive ultra-high-resolution monitors over the last few months – including a monstrous 8K, $5,000 model and a 30-inch 4K OLED – and now it is adding a new 27-inch, 4K, HDR-capable panel to its range. The UltraSharp UP2718Q boasts a 3840×2160 resolution and is the first monitor of its size to meet the UHD Alliance’s HDR10 standard.

The UP2718Q features a peak brightness of 1,000 nits, 100 percent Adobe RGB, 100 percent sRGB, 100 percent REC 709, 97.7 percent DCI-P3, and 76.9 percent REC2020. Connectivity is served by one DisplayPort 1.4, a mini-DisplayPort 1.4, two HDMI 2.0a ports, two upstream USB 3.0 ports, and a hub of four USB 3.0 ports, two of which are capable of charging.

“As the No. 1 monitor brand¹ in the world, we deliver the latest, most innovative display technology to our customers to meet and exceed their expectations, whether that’s at work or at home,” Bert Park, Senior Vice President and General Manager for Dell Software & Peripherals, said. “At NAB 2017, we’re proud to continue Dell’s tradition of world-class innovation – our first HDR monitor that meets HDR10 standard – by providing creators with the most strikingly accurate images and lifelike, unparalleled color performance.”

“With the emergence of industry-shifting technology, we’re at an inflection point for building innovative products that empower creators to do what they do best – create!,” Rahul Tikoo, Vice President and General Manager at Dell Precision, added. “At Dell, we’re working hard with our partners to provide the right solutions that will help revolutionize industries and we’re committed to delivering innovative solutions that will allow creators to do their best work yet.”

The Dell UltraSharp 27-inch 4K HDR Monitor (UP2718Q) will be available from 23rd May, priced $1,999.99.
