Dell has confirmed that they will release pre-built AMD systems, of course, that also includes their upcoming Threadripper processors! However, they’ll also be the exclusive OEM vendor for such systems. This means that the new Alienware Area-51 Threadripper editions brings more cores wrapped in the iconic triangular chassis.
The Alienware Area-51 Threadripper Edition features a 16-core or a 12-core Ryzen Threadripper processor. The CPU will be factory overclocked and liquid cooled. That’s an excellent base, but there’s naturally more to it. You can install up to 64GB 2667/2933 MHz DDR4 memory.
There will be a lot of graphics card options too. Of course, you could get GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Radeon RX570/580. However, these systems go up to a dual GTX 1080 Ti cards.
Dell snapped a great deal here, and no matter what they paid for it, I’m sure it will pay off. This makes Dell the exclusive OEM partner for pre-build systems, at least those with AMD Ryzen Threadripper processors.
“Through 2017, Dell will be the exclusive OEM partner to deliver AMD Ryzen Threadripper pre-built systems to the market. The high-end 16-core will be factory-overclocked across all 16-cores and 32 logical threads. The Area-51 Threadripper Edition is ideal for customers who explore the world of mega-tasking, doing many system-demanding tasks at the same time, and are looking for a complete, reliable solution from a trusted brand.”
