Dell launches Ubuntu powered XPS 13 Ultrabook

Primarily aimed at developers by Dell, the ultrabook comes with “the essentials they want”. The ultrabook uses Ubuntu 12.04 OS. This is available from Dell for $ 1,449 including pro support with an option to bump up to 2 or 3 years.

XPS 13 features a 13.3 inch panel with 1366 x 768, powered with i7 3517U and 8 gigs of memory and a 256gig SSD. The casing is made of carbon fiber and aluminum. and offers gorilla glass. The thicknes of the laptop is 6mm on its thinnest edge and 8 on its thickest.

Dell is offering this after “community input” but its an option for those who do not want Windows 8. A choice is always good.
