Dell is not Apple. Not in terms of design and certainly not in terms of being able to keep a secret. The company has somehow managed to leak two of its upcoming Windows 8 tablets, months ahead of launch.
It’s not that we mind, to the contrary, they offer us the first glimpse into the future Windows 8 tablets and the future looks good. The XPS 12 is a convertible 12.5-inch Full HD tablet with edge-to-edge Gorilla glass and an aluminium and carbon fiber shell. There is still no word on the spec, but we believe it will be powered by Intel chips.
The Latitude 10 is a more conservative design. It is a traditional slate with a 10.1-inch 1366×768 screen. Powered by Intel Clover Trail chips, the Latitude is not the thinnest and lightest thing around. It weighs 740g and measures 10.5mm to 13.4mm at the waistline. It will ship with 2GB of DDR2 and up to 128GB of sMMC SSD storage, although we doubt many users will opt for the 128GB version due to the price.
You can check out both Dell tablets here and here.
