DELL Mixed Reality Visor Now Available for Pre-Orders
Ron Perillo / 7 years ago
Dell officially unveiled their mixed reality headset called Visor two weeks ago, but now it is finally available for pre-orders. Each box contents include the Dell Visor itself, wrist lanyards, USB/HDMI combo cable, 4x AA batteries and user manuals. This mixed reality solution is just one of a slew of affordable Windows-compatible units, based on the HoloLens. Lenovo and ASUS in particular are offering similar base designs with minor differences. All offer 1,440 x 1,440 resolution per 2.89-inch LCD panel per eye, with 110 degree field of view and 90Hz refresh rate.
DELL Visor Headset and Controllers for Pre-Orders
At PCworld.co.uk, the set with controllers will set you back £429.99. The unit itself will not ship until October 17. This is slightly pricier than Lenovo’s Explorer which costs £399.99 from the same site. Although the DELL solution is priced similarly in the US, where users can pre-order the standalone Visor for $349. The set with the controllers cost $100 extra. Unfortunately, it appears that UK users do not have the same option of purchasing the Visor by itself. At least for now. These units will also be available in Microsoft and Best Buy stores come October 17.
