Up until now Dell hasn’t really made any significant progress in the tablet market but it hopes to today as it announces the consumer availability a couple of budget high spec’d Android tablets – The Venue 7 and Venue 8 tablets Android Community reports. Both tablets can now be purchased on the Dell store with prices starting at $150/£115 for the Venue 7 and $180/ £135 for the Venue 8.
Both tablets have similar specifications with the main difference being screen size. The screens of choice are 1280 x 800 displays with Intel’s Atom dual cores from the Clover Trail+ platform, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage and Intel HD Graphics. The operating system of choice is Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. Connectivity includes WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth and MicroSD.
The Venue 8 runs an Intel Atom Z2580 2GHz dual core processor while the Venue 7 runs an Atom Z2560 1.6GHz dual core processor. The Venue 8 also has a better 2MP front and 5MP rear camera set up compared to the Venue 7’s VGA front and 3MP rear cameras.
