Dell’s Alienware team, known for their high priced gaming systems, has recently introduced a new version of their Aurora gaming desktop now based on Intel’s latest Sandy Bridge-E platform.

From the outside, the Aurora R4 remains faithful to its unique and recognizable ALX mid-tower chassis. Powering the beast is a liquid-cooled Intel Core i7-3930K or i7-3960X, up to 32GB of RAM, up to 2TB of hard drive storage and/or up to 512GB of solid state drive storage. The choice of GPU goes up to a Nvidia GeForce GTX 590 or two AMD Radeon HD 6950.

Also included is either one or two optical drive, a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio or Titanium audio card, and Windows 7.

The Alienware Aurora R4 is now available and starts at $2,199/£1,999, the price will obviously rise depending on your selected components.
