Bungie is announcing the availability of a free trial for Destiny 2 starting November 28. It will allow users who are not familiar with the game to play with limited features. Moreover, the free trial will be available on consoles as well as on PCs through Blizzard Battle.net app. Players of the demo will be able to play on two of the game’s destinations: European Deadzone on Earth and the moon Titan. The farm social space is also going to be accessible. This is a special area which players can interact with vendors and refugees in between their journey. It has a hangar, a courtyard and even has a soccer field.
Free Trials or Demos as they were called back in the late 90s, are coming back in style. Bethesda have begun offering it for their latest Wolfenstein game. Even the first Destiny game also offered a free demo several months after release. The free trial is an effort by Activision to increase the player base, especially after the recent controversy with the deliberate XP slowdown. The game is also set to receive a major update next month, coinciding with the release of the Curse of Osiris expansion. This update is arriving December 5.
Besides the free trial, to further entice users to buy the full game, it is currently 35% off via the Battle.net app. This applies to the Digital Deluxe Edition, the Game + Expansion pass bundle, as well as the plain Standard Edition.
