In direct contrast to the previous generation, Pascal mobile chips perform very similar to their desktop counterparts and make portable devices a more attractive proposition for gaming. Additional details about the upcoming GTX 1050 Ti mobile has just been revealed via LaptopMedia. Apparently, the GPU has 768 CUDA cores, 48 TMUs, 32 ROPs and 4GB of GDDR5 memory on a 128-bit interface. Not only that, the GTX 1050 Ti is clocked significantly higher than the desktop model and utilises a 1490MHz core and 1624MHz boost.

When analysing the specifications, it’s likely that the GTX 1050 Ti will be faster than the GTX 970M. The 3DMark numbers published by LaptopMedia show the GPU to be pretty powerful and enjoying a 10% lead over the GTX 970M in the Cloudgate benchmark. Also, the performance was around 7% improved throughout Firestrike and 9% faster in Unigine Heaven 4. This makes the GPU pretty decent and a good choice for lower-end laptops sporting a 1080P display. Only time will tell how much of a lead the GTX 1050 Ti mobile will have compared to previous generation products and the launch price. As per usual, we’ll be working closely with the core brands to review a number of laptops using this particular chip.

Are you looking forward to the GTX 1050 Ti’s mobile launch?
