Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Delayed – New Release Date Revealed

Deus Ex is widely perceived as a masterpiece and one of the first major titles to offer various playthrough styles. Its sequel, Deus Ex: Invisible War focused on the console market and featured fairly basic mechanics. This was a massive disappointment and didn’t honor the original’s innovative gameplay. On a brighter note, Deus Ex: Human Revolution exceeded people’s expectations and even managed to impress the hardcore demographic. As you might expect, the latest entry entitled Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is gathering a great deal of enthusiasm.

However, Eidos Montreal boss David Anfossi announced the game will not launch until August 2016 in a blog post today which reads:

“We’re confident and proud of the game so far,”

“However, as we are now playing through the game in full we can see that it will require more time in post-production for tuning, iterations and refinement to meet our high standards.”

“We are sorry to disappoint you with this news, and also thank you for all of your support and comments. This game is a huge part of our lives, and we don’t want to compromise on its quality.”

“So please be patient with us a little longer, and thanks as always for your passion and support – through thick and thin. It’s a huge responsibility to work on Deus Ex Mankind Divided – we know, but also a huge privilege. We’re determined to deliver the best game we can.”

While this is a disappointing turn of events, I would rather experience a polished delayed game instead of a rushed and poorly optimized version. Furthermore, with native DirectX 12 functionality, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will provide an indication into the performance gains using an optimized API.
