Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Performance Analysis

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided – 1080p, 1440p and 4K DirectX 11 Benchmarks

During 1080p benchmarking, only the GTX 1080 has the required horsepower to provide a dependable 60 frames per second experience. This illustrates the ultra preset’s extraordinarily demanding nature which is compounded even further at higher resolutions. Rather impressively, the XFX R9 Fury X slots into the second position ahead of the 980Ti and GTX 1070. All of these options maintain a solid frame rate which should be ample unless the frame rate fluctuations end up being a source of irritation. Slightly lower down the order is the R9 Nano which performs brilliantly to defeat the GTX Titan X. On another note, the RX 480 enjoys a significant lead over the GTX 1060 and almost eclipses the GTX Titan X. This is staggering when you consider the mammoth price difference.

Even the RX 470 has enough of a performance boost to defeat the GTX 1060 which is a major coup for AMD. The GTX 970 and GTX 980 can achieve decent numbers and the minimum hovers around the 30 mark. As expected, the ultra preset proves too demanding for the GTX 1050 and RX 460.

Once the resolution is increased to 2560×1440, the GTX 1080 retains the top spot and has a considerable lead over the competition. While it’s not powerful enough to maintain a 60 frames per second average, the performance is commendable. The GTX 980Ti just about finishes ahead of the R9 Fury X and GTX 1070 although the results are so close that you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference in real-world scenarios. The R9 Nano fares pretty well and remains within touching distance of the GTX 1070. In a similar vein to the previous results, the Titan X struggles to pull ahead of the RX 480 and R9 390X. It’s a shame but the mid-table graphics cards are overawed by the game’s visual quality and require some concessions in the options menu.

Unfortunately, none of the graphics solutions available today can contend with the ultra preset while driving a 4K display. The GTX 1080 might come out on top but it’s immaterial given the unplayable performance numbers which span across the entire field.
