Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Receives a New Performance Patch

Deux Ex: Mankind Divided is a fun game with an awesome story, but it is plagued by quite a few performance issues, especially when it comes to DirectX 12. Nvidia users, in particular, have complained about the game’s performance when using the new API, and so NIXXES has issued a series of patches that aim to fix some of the most important problems. The latest performance patch for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided definitely offers some improvements for Nvidia users, but the sad news is that the game still performs poorly in DirectX 12 when compared to DirectX 11. According to a series of screenshots, the post-patch improvements allow the game to hover closely and sometimes even surpass 60FPS in DX12, while the same scenes rendered using DX11 reach more than 70 FPS in some cases without any issues. The example below includes screenshots from the pre-patch version of the game, the post-patch version and the DX11 version so you can see the differences for yourself
It’s true that DX12 is a relatively new API, which means that developers are still figuring out the best ways to implement it, but it’s still underwhelming to see a modern title that performs soo poorly on modern-day hardware. For the time being, GeForce owners should probably stick with DirectX 11, as it clearly offers a superior gaming experience. You can have a look at more comparison screenshots below.
