Some say that virtual reality represents the future of gaming, but the truth is that we’re nowhere near that point right now. Sure, some games feature VR support, and more are definitely on their way, but the price of headsets is not exactly affordable for a wide audience right now, which is why some developers are taking things slow as far as VR content goes. A good example is Eidos Montreal, the developers behind Deus Ex: Mankind Divided – an upcoming cyberpunk-themed action role-playing game. Even though the new Deus Ex was not designed for virtual reality gaming from the ground up, recent news suggests that this title will offer VR support to a certain degree.
To be more specific, a total of four areas in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will be explorable using a VR headset, and while this may not sound like a lot, it’s definitely going to increase the game’s overall appeal. The expected launch date for this title is August 23 for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles, and just in case you’re curious about its graphics and gameplay features, you can always have a look at the following gameplay demo.
