Amazon has announced that they are releasing an API for app developers that wish to use their Cloud Drive service in their apps.
This new API will give developers access to the same storage services as business that use company’s Amazon Web Services product. This will be particularly useful to developers that need a significant amount of storage for their app, saving them the complexity and perhaps more importantly the added cost of setting up their own backend servers.
Apple announced at their World Wide Developers Conference this summer a similar API only for iOS Developers, giving them up to 1 Petabyte of backend storage.
