Devil May Cry HD Collection Supports “4K and Beyond”

CAPCOM recently announced that a Devil May Cry HD Collection is coming in 2018. This includes the original hack and slash trilogy from 2001, as well as the sequel from 2003 and the third part from 2005. Unlike the first Devil May Cry HD collection which came out in 2012 for the PS3 and Xbox 360, this one will have a PC release. This time however, CAPCOM promises to deliver a true high-definition experience.

More than that, it is actually going to be fully 4K compatible and beyond at 60 frames-per-second on the PC. However, there will be no uncapped framerate options as according to a CAPCOM rep, it is a legacy title which came out before the MT framework came into play. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions are not in 4K, and will be at 1080p resolution although running at 60fps as well.

CAPCOM Promises a Better Port for the PC

For those concerned that the DMC3 port will be as bad as the previous PC version, apparently that is not the case. It will be a “clean, functional port that works well on modern PCs” according to a CAPCOM rep. Moreover, it has “nothing to do with the old, outsourced PC version”.  That is good news for fans as DMC3 is one of the most fun in the series. The actual release date will be on March 13, 2018. It will cost only $29.99 and will be available for the PC, PlayStation 4 as well as Xbox One consoles on the same day.

This should keep fans occupied until more news about the rumoured Devil May Cry 5 surfaces. That is another good news for longtime fans as it will ignore Ninja theory’s DmC reboot.
