Blizzard has many game series in their name, with the Warcraft game series soon to get its own movie. Another popular series from the company is the Diablo series, featuring angels and demons fighting it out for years and years now. Now 16 years after its original release, and a sequel, Diablo 2 gets a patch.
Diablo 2 last received a patch back in 2011, but now five years later the game gets its next update. First released in 2000, those who want to sit back and enjoy the classic game will now find it easier to play on modern systems.
The patch addresses several things but the major points are the ability to play the game on windows 7, 8 and even 10 without the need for “XP mode”. If you are more of an OSX user, the game should now also work on your system.
If you still need another reason to play it, the game now features enhanced cheat-detection and hack-prevention capabilities. In the original post, the author makes it clear that this is but the first step and that “it does not end there”.
Given the graphics update for Diablo III and now this, could the Diablo series be seeing new life soon? If you feel like trying out the game, check out the Blizzard store, where both Diablo 2 and the Lord Of Destruction expansion are only $9.99 each (£7).
