While nothing official was discussed aside from EA’s president Frank Gibeau ‘confirming’ Battlfield 4, DICE may have implanted some hints as to their upcoming project into the game itself.
As already seen in Battlefield 2: Suro Forces Expansion, Battlefield 3 presents the similar hint, only this time not with the number 2142, but 2143 on a shipping crate within the game.
This could be a coincidence, but it is too specific to be left alone. A following title to Battlefield 2142 would certainly be a nice release, with the possibility of finally bringing this title to console (Battlefield 2142 was released on PC only).
If it is indeed a hint, it was rather clever from Dice’s part, and most certainly exciting, with the first title dating from 2006, think of what a new engine such as Frostbite 2 could do with it?
Time shall tell which will come first, Battlefield 4, Battlefield 2143 or something else?
