Storage and USB Performance

CrystalDiskMark – Sequential Read

The system’s solitary 250GB Samsung 750 EVO SSD achieved an excellent read speed which is teetering close to the limits of the SATA interface. On another note, the USB 3.0 read rate was decent, although I have a sneaking suspicion the drive itself is performing worse than it used to.

CrystalDiskMark – Sequential Write

Here we can see, the SSD’s write performance which is exemplary and outclasses many other rival options. While it’s not able to contend with NVMe devices, you can’t really argue given the significantly cheaper price point. The USB 3.0 write speed was acceptable, but I’m beginning to think the speed is being limited by the drive’s degradation over time.
