Storage and USB Performance
CrystalDiskMark – Sequential Read
The system’s boot SSD might not be the most premium model available today, but it still manages exemplary read speeds. Rather surprisingly, the ADATA 120GB SP550 defeated popular drives like the Samsung 850 EVO and managed a 552.8MB/s read rate. On another note, the secondary drive recorded decent numbers while the USB 3.0 rate remained very good.
CrystalDiskMark – Sequential Write
Unfortunately, the excellent performance is short lived and the drive outputs mediocre write speeds. This isn’t a shocking revelation because the SSD attains numbers within the quoted range. However, it’s clear the write performance isn’t a match for more expensive solutions. Even though the mechanical drive couldn’t exceed 200MB/s, the write rate should be ample. Also, the USB 3.0 speeds were some of the best on record and maximise the drive’s potential.
