‘Dirty Bomb’ Hits Open Beta

Remember ‘Return to Castle Wolfenstein’ or ‘Brink’? Well, the team responsible for the development of these two titles, Splash Damage, has been working hard on a brand new free-to-play game named Dirty Bomb, which is now in open beta. The game in question is being published by Nexon, and it promises to deliver a challenging, team-based FPS experience that rewards skill and dedication while punishing slow reaction times.
The game has been in a closed beta phase for a while, and players could only gain access by purchasing a “Merc starter pack.” The pack was available for $19.99 and included 35,000 in-game credits as well as permanent access to five mercs named Vassili, Sawbonez, Arty, Fragger and Proxy, each featuring its own unique abilities. I’m telling you this because even though you can now try out the game without paying a single cent, you might end up being slaughtered by those who were active during the closed beta phase.
As far as the minimum system requirements are concerned, Dirty Bomb needs a 2.33 GHz dual-core processor, 3GB of RAM memory and a GeForce 7800 GTX or an AMD equivalent. Judging by these requirements, the graphics won’t necessarily be the most impressive, but the game seems to look decent enough, at least for my taste.
If difficult team-based FPS games are your cup of tea, have a look at the video below and try out the Dirty Bomb open beta through Steam.
