There are no shortage of amazing games this year with plenty more still to come as we approach Christmas. With games like Halo, Call of Duty, Need for Speed, Resident Evil, Borderlands and countless other titles taking the headlines it is hard to sell a new IP in todays market, most of the game buying public save their money for the titles they’re familiar with, regardless of how good/bad they may be.
So it’s great when an unexpected gem like Dishonored comes along, not only is it a great game but its hopefully just the beginning of what could be a fantastic series. The game world has spirit, the characters are memorable and the gameplay is top notch.
I’ve already completed the game once and I’m well on my way finishing it again. It took my 25 hours the first time and instead of rushing the 2nd time, I feel pushed to do better, maybe one day I’ll complete it without killing anyone or being discovered, who knows.
Amongst the sea of titles that are worth your money recently and over the next few months I highly recommend you check out Dishonored, find a demo, rent it, borrow it from a friend, or of course buy it.
If you loved titles like Bioshock and want another dark industrial world to explore, you love reckless violence or tactical stealth action, or you just love something that has a spark of originality over the copy paste block buster titles, then I’m certain you’re going to love Dishonored. Which is why I’m happy to award it our eTeknix Gamers Choice Award.
