Disney Confirm Their Own VR Headset is Being Developed with Lightsabers

The house of Mouse is a pretty keen party in the VR market. It should therefore come as no surprise that the company plans to launch it’s own Disney VR experience. Just for the sake of being different (I think), Disney are opting to call it AR (augmented reality). Before you ask, yes, light sabers are going to be a part of it.
Disney VR bringing the House of Mouse to your living room!
The announcement of Disney VR, via PCGamesN, has been met with a lot of excitement. Unusually not from the VR headset fans, but mostly from Star Wars fans. The production of Disney AR has also coincided with the release of a new Star Wars VR project. While the 30 second video doesn’t reveal much, what it does make clear is that light sabres will be shook about!
This isn’t Disney’s first venture into VR/headset technology. Via Steam and other platforms, they have been keen to push their more recent film titles with particular attention being given the recent (unnecessary) re-boot of Beauty and the Beast. It also hasnt been much of a secret that Disney have been looking at creating the holo-chess made famous in the film as a VR game.
In fairness, since acquiring the IP of Star Wars, most of the fans concerns have been unfounded. Disney seem to want to feed this cow as well as milk it.
Any more details?
Unfortunately not. Disney VR is something they want us to know about, but they don’t want to reveal too much yet either. The official website for the proposed VR game ‘Jedi Challenges’ can be visited by clicking here, although at present it does appear to be suffering from a traffic issue. Given that we recently reported that a fight between a Star Trek and Star Wars fan ended in arrest, we can at least agree that this is far more positive news. I mean seriously, what a stupid thing to argue about… Firefly is clearly the best.
