Disney has revealed the first batch of concept art for its proposed “Star Wars Land” attraction, to be built at both Disneyland and Disney World during ABC’s The Wonderful World of Disney: Disneyland 60 televised event. Harrison Ford – Han Solo himself – introduced the reveal over a montage of beautiful concept paintings.
“I’m so blessed that I had the opportunity to be a part of it, to walk in these iconic locations,” Ford said. “And soon, you will be able to do that as well, not in a galaxy far, far away, but a place close to home.”
The attraction was first revealed at D23 last year, during which Disney promised a Tatooine-esque Cantina, a Mos Eisley-inspired market, and a full-size recreation, inside and out, of the Millennium Falcon, plus the opportunity to live-action roleplay during some of the Star Wars Saga’s most iconic moments.
“I am thrilled to announce the next chapter in the long and exciting history between Disney Parks and Star Wars,” Disney Chief Bob Iger said at the time (via /Film). “Through each new attraction and new land we create, we push the boundaries of what is possible. And as you can imagine, with Star Wars, we are taking that to a whole new level, with a whole galaxy to explore.”
