There can be many reasons that you would want to invest in a cable like the CAC-1522 Type-C PD cable. It enables a connection between your notebook, tablet, or phone with USB Type-C to the latest peripherals. A lot of these new devices come with Type-A to Type-C cables and as such, this cable can come in very handy.

USB 3.1 Type-C offers video, data, and power over a single cable, making the setup a lot easier and giving you a lot more options with a single port. The cable also features an e-marker chip which is an integrated circuit enabling the connected devices to identify the capabilities of the cable.

The e-marker ensures optimal performance between the connected devices and thereby giving you the best possible setup. With a support for up to 4K 60Hz UHD video, USB 3.1 SuperSpeed+ data up to 10Gbps, and up to 100W power supply, the 80cm long CAC-1522 will offer you all the options you need from your USB 3.1 Type-C port.

Package and Accessories

Just like the HDMI adapter, the Club3D Type-C to Type-C cable also comes in an environmentally friendly packaging made of recycled paper. The front displays a mockup of the cable in a shortened version as well as it’s capabilities.

Usage

The cable works as intended, but then again, it’s a cable. But it’s a quality one that will last you a long time. It worked flawlessly with all my USB 3.1 devices of which a few are pictured below. Connect and enjoy, that’s USB. And thanks to the USB-C connector, you don’t have to worry about the orientation anymore.

  1. Now Bring on the PCI-E GPU adapters… even at low bandwidth it will be better than the current Hack through Wifi module, and a great boon for many of us.
