Donald Trump Credits Twitter for His Presidency

I’m sure Twitter is delighted with that endorsement
Donald Trump is a divisive figure, but like it or not, he is the President of the United States. Whether he is building a wall or shutting down the internet, he is, at the very least entertaining. In what is perhaps an entirely unwanted endorsement, however, President Trump has said that without Twitter, he would never have been president. I’m sure they’re thrilled at Twitter HQ.
In a report via the Independent, Donald Trump has said that the immediacy of the format and his implementation of it allowed him to be constantly in touch with the voters.
‘When somebody says something about me, I am able to go bing, bing, bing and I take care of it. The other way, I would never get the word out’
Presumably by ‘bing, bing, bing’ he means sent out a Tweet, although I’m sure some people will imagine him just sitting making the noise.
Donald Trump says ‘bing, bing, bing’
The President is clearly a fan of social media and comments on it regularly. He feels that his regular usage of the program allowed him to response immediately to any comments, questions or criticisms. This, he feels, make the voters feel far more engaged with him which ultimately led to his completely unexpected presidency.
“I doubt I would be here if it weren’t for social media, to be honest with you.” said Donald Trump, “Tweeting is like a typewriter – when I put it out, you put it immediately on your show.
There is to this some irony that Twitter recently refused to identify the holder of an anti-Trump account. Presumably, the President might be taking a little revenge here. He should, however, have a care. Social media is a very sharp double-edged sword which he has discovered on more than one occasion.
What do you think? Can President Trump make Twitter great again? Let us know in the comments!
