The news that every Overwatch player has been waiting for is finally here. Doomfist is now officially the latest hero added to the roster, announced in the July 6 developer update. The character is the 25th hero in the title and hails from Nigeria, West Africa. The announcement is a long time coming since he has been teased ever since the original cinematic trailer. He is an assault-class hero working for the Talon organization with Reaper.
In terms of combat capabilities, he obviously makes use of his eponymous weapon. This gauntlet is capable of short-range bursts, including a ground Seismic Slam attack and a Rocket Punch that sends enemies against the wall. He also has defensive capabilities in the form of a personal shield. Doomfist’s Ultimate involves the character leaping into the air and smashing down for a wide area damage.
The character is available to play for PC users on the game’s Public Test Real servers. Console players and main servers should see the new character in a few days.
