Dr. Dre Might Star in Apple’s Upcoming TV Drama

Would you watch a television series produced by Apple? How about if Dr. Dre starred in it? Sources indicate that a new partnership between the renowned American rapper and Apple might soon materialize, as Dre is rumored to star in the upcoming “Vital Signs” show. Considering the fact that Dr. Dre sold off his Beats Electronics company to Apple for $3 billion a while back, such a collaboration certainly doesn’t sound far-fetched. The television series in question is going to be a semi-autobiographical dark drama with “no shortage of violence and sex,” which means that it will only appeal to a certain audience.

The show will only have a run of six episodes at first, all of which will be produced and written by Empire co-executive producer-writer Robert Munic. The episodes will be released at the same time via Apple Music, and they will be directed by Paul Hunter. Andre Romelle Young certainly has some background in movie production, as he was the man behind the acclaimed Straight Outta Compton drama that was released in 2015. Straight Outta Compton was partially based on Dr. Dre’s own career, which probably had something to do with its overall popularity. Even though Apple and Dr. Dre have declined to comment on these rumors, we’ll probably be able to give you some official news about “Vital Signs” soon enough.
