Dragon Ball fans rejoice as two of the most popular characters in the franchise join the Dragon Ball FighterZ roster. Namekian fighter Piccolo and nose-less Shaolin shorty Krillin will be playable characters. Of course, they will be bringing their own unique martial arts styles and projectiles. This means Krillin will be able to Kienzan Destructo disk or his own mini-Kamehameha blast. In addition to these special moves, Krillin will also be able to use his “afterimage” technique to confuse opponents. Just like in the TV series, Picollo will also be able to fight with stretchable limbs. The Namekian will also be able to dish out several charging blasts of his own. The news comes straight out of Japan’s V-jump magazine to the delight of long time fans.
Dragon Ball FighterZ is on the calendar for a 2018 release date on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Developer Arc System Works brings their experience with the Guilty Gear franchise and utilizes it in full effect with DBZ characters. The current known roster includes Goku, Gohan (teen), Vegeta, Krillin, Future Trunks and Piccolo. Cell, Frieza, Majin Buu are also there to represent the villains so far. The game still has a long way to go before release so fans are hoping that more classic characters will make an appearance.
