Dreams Of Robot Rumbles Could Soon Become A Reality!

When you watch anime or cartoon you often see giant robots decking it out to see which one will survive the onslaught of metal. This could soon come to life thanks to the startup MegaBots raising over $2.4 million to help fund the sport of robot-fighting.
MegaBots cofounders Gui Cavalcanti, Matt Oehrlein and Brinkley Warren are anything but quiet about their aspirations as they hope that the sport could soon become as big as sports like Formula 1 or the UFC.
Don’t worry if you think you won’t get to see the US based bot battle, the funds are going to be used to help set up an international league similar to the Olympics, giving each country a chance to battle their mechs against one another in a bot on bot battle. If you think this sounds familiar it’s because MegaBots has actually already challenged a team to a battle.
If you think this sounds familiar it’s because MegaBots has actually already challenged a team to a battle. The America-based team has already challenged Japanese company Kuratas to the arena as their mech comes equipped for battle with everything from paintballs to swords.
With so much money behind the idea, you could soon watch fights from Real Steel and Gundam battle out right in front of yours and who knows, maybe they’ll join in with Drones to create a technology based Olympics-style event?
