DreamWorksTV Aims to Build Following For Future Characters

Popular animation studio DreamWorks has launched the DreamWorks TV video channel geared towards children between the ages of 6 and 11 years old.  The movie studio hopes to build a following behind characters in both live action and animation films of the future.

The custom DreamWorks TV will feature the likes of Shrek, Kung Fu Panda and Puss in Boots, providing original live-action and animated short-form videos for families and children.  In addition to the launch of “Gorillaville” and “Record Setter Kids,” DreamWorks will add “Watch This” and “RetroTunes” later this week, as more content is added further.

Here is what Jeffrey Katzenberg, DreamWorks Animation CEO said:

“DreamWorksTV is committed to delivering original content, from scripted live-action series based on great characters like Richie Rich, to fresh new animated characters like Jimmy Blue Shorts to vlogs and other short-form content featuring the much beloved Shrek, Po and Puss in Boots.  We are combining the DreamWorks brand with lessons learned from AwesomenessTV to create content that will be embraced by families everywhere.”

Making sure video content is available is an important marketing tactic by DreamWorks, and this could be a great method to keep viewers engaged.
