Drop has just unveiled their newest Middle-earth-themed keyboard, and it’s a beauty! This time, they’ve taken inspiration from the Dark Lord’s Black Speech, reworking their incredibly popular CSTM80 and CSTM65. As the owner of a CSTM80 (possibly the best keyboard I’ve ever used), I’m kicking myself for not waiting. At first glance, this new design might be the best looking one yet one yet and that’s no small feat.
Black Speech
The keyboards in question that Drop has released a line of officially licensed “Lord of the Rings” Black Speech-themed keyboard accessories. This includes the MT3 Black Speech Keycaps, which feature legends written in the sinister Black Speech script found on The One Ring, along with extra accent keys.
CSTM80 and CSTM65
The release also features two new keyboards: the Drop + The Lord of the Rings Black Speech CSTM80 and CSTM65. The CSTM80 is a customizable keyboard with a decorative case designed by OSHETART, showcasing artwork of Barad-dûr and the Black Land. It includes the MT3 Black Speech Keycaps, Gateron KS-3 Milky Yellow Pro Switches, and other enthusiast components. The CSTM65 is a compact, pre-built keyboard, also featuring a Black Speech decorative case by OSHETART, and the same high-quality switches and keycaps. Both keyboards utilize magnetically attached cases for easy customization.
