There are more than a few things one should not attempt while drunk. Cooking, driving (obviously) and calling up the ex to profess how you still love them but they never truly understood you and no one ever will. One man in China, however, has more than a hangover to deal with as his drunken online shopping antics led him to some strange purchases.
In a report via SCMP, an unnamed man from China decided to have a little drink before engaging in online shopping on China’s ‘black-Friday’ equivalent sale last Sunday. He woke up the next morning, likely blurry-eyed, and decided to check whether he had actually ordered the clothes he intended to buy and, specifically, if they had been shipped.
Well, the good news is that he did and they were in the post. The bad news, however, is that he also purchased a peacock, a miniature pig and a salamander.
Following a post to his Weibo account (China’s main social media platform), the man has said: “Early in the morning yesterday. While I was drunk. I clicked into Taobao and started shopping. All along I thought I’d only bought two sets of clothes. I suddenly remembered to check if the clothes I bought have been shipped, and realised I’d also bought a pig and a peacock.”
Some have given him advice as to how to handle his peacock. Specifically when it goes ‘a bit crazy’ (they do this quite a lot apparently). Others have been more pragmatic. For example, suggesting recipes he can try out to eat the salamander. Indicentally, no, I didn’t mean to write pig there either. They actually want him to eat the lizard-like amphibian.
Let this serve as a cautionary tale for you as black Friday approaches!
