Ducky @ Computex 2023

Ducky has a lot of keyboards here at Computex 2023, but there’s one in particular that really got my attention. The Ducky ProjectD Outlaw 65, and while it looks pretty dope in this minty orange aesthetic, it’s really about making it however you want it to be, swapping materials and components inside and out to suit your needs.

The one on display here is heavy as keyboards can be, with a thick steel housing that looks absolutely gorgeous. However, when it comes to choice, you have more than you’ll ever need. You can choose from Carbon Fiber or Metal Plate for the front, rear, stand and branding plates.

It’s going to be something you order from Ducky directly, then they ship you all the parts in the materials, finishes and colours of your choosing, then you assemble it at home.

However, for a 65% keyboard, everything is incredibly thick and robust, and by far one of the best-made keyboards I’ve ever seen, but then… things get detailed!

You can choose the front, sides, back and top panels, you can choose the plate with FR-4 or POM, plate Foam, there are multiple stems and housings, PE sheet, PCB, optional bottom foams, branding plates and more.

There are built-in stabilisers on the PCB too, as well as integrated RGB lighting too.

They had loads of configurations on display, and a bin full of keys to help you tinker and customise it.

Honestly, this thing is going to be extremely popular with enthusiasts, and while it won’t be cheap, the final price will of course be dictated by the options you choose too.

Andy certainly seems to like it! We’ll have more information on this one shortly.
