Duke Nukem Forever finally has a release date

Most gamers will have played or heard of Duke Nukem at some point, and many were waiting anxiously for a sequel to the popular groundbreaking game Duke Nukem 3D that was released in 1996.

Now after 12 years in development, and after many delays and disappointments, we are finally going to see him back in action! 3D Realms and publisher 2K Games have finally confirmed that the game is set to be released in the US on the 3rd of May 2011, and will be available for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC platforms. For everyone else the International release will be on the 6th May.

Things to expect from Duke Nukem will no doubt include lots of the same fun filled action that we came to love in the original shooter plus much more. For those that need reminding, expect lots of blood, gore, violence, strong language and some nudity; only in much crisper detail as technology and game development have come a long way since the original Duke Nukem 3D was released.

Watch the trailer and drool over what is set to be one of the biggest moments in gaming history with the return of the original bad-ass, Duke Nukem.
