Free Dying Light DLC On the Way Thanks to ‘Strong Community’

For me, Dying Light came, I played it, I completed it, I moved on. It got a nod of approval but beyond that not much else. It was a fun, if slightly unremarkable Zombie survival game. Some of the more hardcore fans, however, don’t seem to want to part with it and their loyalty is set to be rewarded as the developer has confirmed 10 free DLC’s are on the way.
Dying Light DLC – Free?!
Incredibly yes. While you often hear reports of some games which die a death another the initial launch weeks, a report by PCGames indicates that Dying Light still receives over 500,000 individual plays a week. That, for a game which is nearly 2 years old now, is quite a remarkable figure. Something No Mans Sky could only dream of.
Speaking of the Dying Light DLC and game community, producer Tymon Smektala has said: “This shows that our community is huge, active and craving for more,” says Smektala. As such, Techland plans to treat players to “ten pieces of original new content.”
The following expansion has certainly helped to build on the original game and this game, like the zombie antagonists, just doesn’t seem to want to die.
What can we expect in the Dying Light DLC?
While details are yet to be confirmed, here’s what should be expected:
- New in-game events.
- More and new enemy types.
- New missions
- New Mysteries
- More zombies?
Smektala added that “And the best thing is: all of this stuff will be free… soon we will release a content drop featuring new enemies as a tiny taste of our continuous support for Dying Light.”
Not that I want to pick on No Mans Sky, but compared with Dying Lights 500,000, No Man’s is barely getting 1,000 players a week now. Depressing stuff, but then, many think they deserve it.
I, therefore, applaud Dying Light and with this free DLC, it might just get a loving spot on my hard drive again.
