Dying Light developer looks to release their own games as a publisher

With developers releasing game after game, the companies are often reliant on publishers to ensure that all of their games reach the largest number of gamers possible. It would seem like Techland isn’t happy with the middle man are in fact looking to release their own games.

Techland is a developer known for their survival horror games such as Dead Island and Dying Light, but it would seem that the polish based company are looking to publish two major multiplatform games every year. CEO Pawl Marchewka stated that “as a developer, we have worked with many renowned publishers in the past so we know first-hand what makes these kinds of collaborations efficient and satisfying for both parties”.

With the goal “to release two major multiplatform titles, and four in digital distribution each year”, the studio looks to keep itself busy with the title of Techland Publishing hoping to soon bring their games to the public. With no word on any third party titles being brought up by the newly created publisher company, it will be interesting to see how the publishers look to distribute their games, with both digital copies and physical copies requiring more than trailers and enticing gameplay video.
