Dying Light Enhanced Edition Will be a Free Upgrade Barring The Expansion

Dying Light is a tense, zombie survival game created by Techland and features a surprisingly enticing storyline. Furthermore, the day and night cycle produces such a dramatic contrast and emphasizes the dangers of a zombie apocalypse in complete darkness. On another note, the game’s magnificent first-person perspective and ability to ascend buildings heightens the adrenaline levels as you attempt to fend off hordes of zombies. In my opinion, it’s Techland’s greatest achievement so far and worthy of your time. Even better, the studio plans to release a massive update next year with a whole host of improvements. Here is a list of the enhancements in full:
- Nightmare difficulty setting
- Legend system
- Bounties system
- New Parkour moves
- New enemy attacks and behaviours
- Enhanced facial expressions
- New NPC models
- Improved human enemy AI
- Improved volatile AI
- Greater firearm variety
- HUD and video filter customisations
- Audio upgrades
- Gameplay quality improvements
- Console performance upgrades
- Overall game look and feel improvements
- #DrinkForDLC Content
Originally, it seemed like this would be only available to season pass holders or require some kind of payment. However, Techland clarified on Twitter that the update would be free to all owners of the game:
The Enhancements update is free to both season pass and non-season pass holders. https://t.co/l7s6Yn0fe6

This follows a similar pattern to the enhanced edition upgrade in The Witcher 3. Please note, the upgrade does not include any expansion packs, so there is still a legitimate reason to purchase the season pass.
