Dyson Looks To Hire 300 Staff For Electric Car Development

Dyson look to hire staff for electric car development

When it comes to UK innovators, James Dyson is certainly an exceptional man. If you didn’t know the man, you would almost certainly know about his vacuum technology.

Wanting to get onto the electric car scene, last September the company announced a £2BN investment into electric car design. On top of that now, in a report via the BBC, Dyson is now actively hiring 300 new staff to join the team in the development.

Electric Cars

Dyson reportedly already hires 400 people on their battery-powered car team, it would seem, however, that either progress is not coming along as quickly as they would like or more staff is necessary to meet the deadline.

The company did state to hope to have their first vehicle created by 2020 and that is clearly on 2 years away.

Research Team

The additional staff hiring may be part of Dyson’s plan to relocate the development office to a new specialist location. Following the development, however, it is at present unclear where Dyson will choose to manufacture the cars.

It is believed that the UK, India, and China are all bidding for the opportunity to be the manufacturing hub of the battery-powered car.

The Dyson Electric Car?

While they might be a bit late to the party, the whole electric car business is still entirely in its infancy. Therefore, despite nothing expected to be finished until 2020, this still gives Dyson an opportunity to get on board with this clearly future based technology.
