Christmas is nearly here. At this point, you are probably practically destitute buying gifts that are not wanted for people you don’t particularly like. You know, family.
While some of us are bracing for the onslaught of the Steam Christmas sale, EA has decided to launch into their Origin sale. Now in fairness, since EA’s origin doesn’t have the most fantastic catalog of games, this is usually a much less stressful sale. At least, as above in comparison to Steam.
It’s for reasons such as these sales that PC gaming is nearly a bigger industry than the whole console market combined.
So, with the Origin sale now on, is there anything worth having? We at eTeknix wade through the Sims 4 Expansions to see if there are any bargains to be had!
The first thing that really gets your attention is just how many expansions they’ve released for the Sims 4. I mean, I know that there was a ridiculous amount released in the previous games, but crikey! Was there actually a base game at all?
Anyway, there are some discounts, but whether they are good or not, I’ll leave to your discretion.
The most notable ones include Fifa 18 and Star Wars Battlefront 2 for €35.99 (that’s about £31.99 in Sterling). The Sims 4 base game is €19.99 which in fairness isn’t too bad and the new Cats and Dogs Sims game are €24.99. While the latter is certainly not my thing, it isn’t a bad discount if you did want it.
One of the worse deals perhaps is that you can buy the Battlefield 1 expansions for €9.99 each, yet the premium is just €14.99. Somewhat of a false economy if you want them all and anything else to come.
For me, the stand-out deal though is Dragon Age Inquisition. For just €11.99, that is a really quality title and if you are on a budget, there’s a lot of hours in that game. Very much excellent value for money.
