ECOVACS DEEBOT N8+ Autonomous Hoover Review

Closer Look: Docking Station

The DEEBOT N8+ comes with its own docking station that it will connect to as and when needed. This docking station can also remove the dust from the DEEBOT N8+ when it is docked but it can become quite loud even if only for a short period of time.

When your robot is running low on battery power, it will go back to the docking station and automatically charge it up. Once it is fully charged, it will continue to clean the house where it left off, ensuring that no area is missed.

The lid to the docking station can be easily opened by pressing the grey button.

The dust bag sits nicely at the top and kind of slots into the docking station so it won’t fall or become loose. It is also very easily remove for changing and can be left in for up to 30 days before needing to be changed. However, I do feel this 30-day mark is a bit much, especially if you have children or pets. However, you should hopefully be able to get 2-3 weeks out of it before changing in most cases.

There is plenty of room in the docking station for the bag to expand as it fills up. Again, I don’t quite seeing it last as long as they say it will be should be able to get a good couple of weeks without having to change the bag.

The docking station features a small incline for the robot to climb up to and sort of settle into place. The small bumps will act like grips to allow the DEEBOT N8+ to climb up into the docking station with ease. Once docked, the wheels will settle into a little dip to help make sure the robot stays in place.

The power cable is going to plug into the back of the docking station towards the bottom. Simply connect the cable to and then plug it into your mains outlet and you are ready to go.

One thing that is great to see from the folks at ECOVACS is they have included a bit of a cord caddy. This will come in handy should you place your docking station close to a mains outlet. You can then wrap the cord around this so it stays nice and tidy and out of the way!
