A Closer Look

The packaging for the Live Q2 is nice, bright and bold. Given that it is a pocket PC it pretty much tells you everything you need right on the box. The front gives you a nice clear image of the Q2 as well as the key features.

The side of the packaging goes into specific details for that model. If you remember from above this is sold in a number of variant models, so it is important to know that you’re getting the one that best suits your requirements.

The Q2 itself is fantastically small. The overall size of it is about 10cm square by about 5cm deep. This system does have a fan system (which is unusual for mini-PC) and in the photo below you can just see the vents to the edges. The front of it has two USB ports (1 x 3.0 and 1 x 2.0) and a nicely sized power button.

A closer look at the front highlights the vents to the underside of the ‘lipped’ edge. In addition, you will also notice the LED below the power supply which operates as both a power-on light and CPU function.

The rear of the system has some larger exhaust vents which again, is a little unusual in itself for a mini-PC. In addition, you will also find the power input cable, the HDMI port and the Ethernet port. Remember that this system is wireless, but it is nice to have the ethernet option if you prefer a wired connection.

The sides of the Q2 has a mini-HDMI port whereas the other has an SD-card insert with support up to 128GB of memory. You will also notice that it has 4 nice stands. When on a desk these provide a nice firm grip, even when all the cables are inserted. These do, however, double up as the access point to the interior of the build.

A Look Inside

With the simple removal of the screws, you can easily take a look inside the system. The case removes itself neatly and also re-attached with no problems at all. There are minimal reasons why you would want to get inside this though as it is not customisable. I do, however, suppose that it does make the occasional cleaning/dusting a little easier.

The system itself has been exceptionally well put together. All the main components are operated by a single motherboard. In terms of design though, this is very neat and tidy.

A closer look at the sides highlights just how large (and well hidden) those vents are. With this amount of ventilation it seems clear that with the performance provided by the Intel H5000, they want to make sure things keep nice and cool on the inside!
