ECS Elitegroup Z77H2-AX Golden Board (Z77) Motherboard Review

The box is quite extensive for one, but the first thing you will notice is the gold colouring to tie in with the whole theme of the board. The front of the box is very simple and simply features the Black Extreme/Golden Board branding and model name. The back of the box mimics the front and allows the packaging to give off an upper class feel.
The front panel on the box opens up as a flap to reveal some of the main key features that correspond to the golden branding used. This includes listing the Gold 4ever features that we touched on earlier.
The back of the box also opens up to reveal more information including some of the main features of this board including PCIe Gen3, Ultra Stability and Friendly Design.
The other side of the flap delves more into the extreme side of things with 3-way CrossFireX capabilities, use of PCIe Gen3, lightning fast memory speeds and even talks a bit about the heatpipe cooling design.
Moving away from the box and focussing on the packaging, we find a user’s guide, installation leaflet, driver installation disc and Virtu MVP operation manual.
Also inside, we find a golden style rear I/O panel, three identical SLI bridges, a large amount of dust caps for protecting unused ports on your rear I/O and a wireless antenna.
For those wanting further connectivity options, ECS bundle in a front panel USB 3.0 panel with included rear bracket, if you wish to move its location. Of course, mounting screws come included for both types of bracket.
Finally, we find a total of six SATA cables, with some being certified for SATA 6GB/s, though it would have been nice to see them all black or at least a golden colour to match the board.
