As the October 5 launch is approaching, more and more manufacturers are introducing their Coffee Lake compatible motherboards. One of these is ECS who is introducing their flagship LEET Z370-Lightsaber motherboard. The Lightsaber name first showed up with the Z170 chipset, displacing their initial Z170-Claymore board. As the name suggests, the Lightsaber is packed with a lot more modern features than the Claymore, which is why they retained the name.
For the Z370 series, ECS retains much of the same layout as the Z270 and Z170 Lightsaber. The 14-phase VRM uses low-profile polymer tantalum solid capacitors, and the MOSFEts have a healthy heatpiped heatsink on top of them. On-board 3-digit LED readout, power-on and reset button on the right edge is also handy for overclockers. This 3-digit LED readout has multiple modes which users can toggle. It can either provide voltage readout for certain sections or temperature readouts.
In terms of storage, users get two M.2 slots supporting NVMe PCIe x4 drives. There are also six standard SATA3 6G ports, while there are fifteen USB ports in total. Two are USB 3.1 Gen 2, six are USB 3.0, and seven are USB 2.0 ports.
All Z370 motherboards launch on October 5th. In terms of pricing, ECS did not disclose this information yet. However, it is safe to assume that it will be within the same range as the Z270-Lightsaber which is under $199 USD.
