Edifier, known for its award-winning audio electronics, has introduced the STAX SPIRIT S5 Wireless Planar Magnetic Headphones. Following its 2012 acquisition of STAX Ltd., a leader in electrostatic headphones, Edifier has created the STAX SPIRIT brand to offer high-end audio products for audiophiles.
The STAX SPIRIT S5 headphones feature advanced planar magnetic drivers, which are renowned for delivering superior audio with rich details and impressive transient response. The headphones incorporate the latest Bluetooth V5.4 technology and boast a compact, portable design. The 2μm thin film and 2nd generation EqualMass wiring technology ensure performance comparable to electrostatic headphones.
Unlike dynamic drivers, planar magnetic drivers have a flat, thin diaphragm with embedded wires suspended in a magnetic gap. This design allows the diaphragm to move in a piston-like manner, offering excellent sound reproduction and a good transient response. The 2nd generation EqualMass wiring further enhances the diaphragm’s stability and reduces harmonic distortion to almost zero.
The S5 supports a range of audio codecs, including LDAC, LHDC, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, and aptX Lossless, ensuring high-resolution audio and low latency. The headphones can connect to two Bluetooth devices simultaneously, making it easy to switch between them. The genuine lambskin earpads and top-grain cowhide earcups offer both elegance and comfort, providing hours of uninterrupted use.
The STAX SPIRIT S5 headphones are priced at $499.99
